5:15 p.m. - Things have started to cool off here at the Crawford County Fairgrounds - it is currently a cool 90 degrees out - but that has not stopped the fairgrounds from starting to pick up in activity. Vendors have started to set up for the evenings events such as the Rodeo, which kicks off at 8 p.m. at the grandstands. Earlier this afternoon, the crowd was fairly light, but things have started to pick up and the midway between the grandstands and the display buildings have over 100 spectators. One thing to note, parking at the fair is at a premium, so I would encourage you to get here early if possible. There is free watermelon served by the Crawford County Democratic Party and the smell of fried food and funnel cakes hits your nose the minute you step out of your vehicle. There will be more later as the night progresses. Matt.
