I guess I could fill up this website with things I don't understand. (*Feel free to slam me for my previous statement it will help me prove my point) One thing has bothered me since my early days when chat rooms on the internet were in vogue and people actually chatted in them is that there is a core group who beyond looking for some way to belittle someone, cast disparaging remarks about their chat or posts have nothing or very little to contribute. Case in point check the TALKBACK section of the Morning Sun and you will find numerous examples. in fact just about any blog or forum board shows this trend (not so much chat rooms anymore because there is so little chatting going on. They should rename them PM rooms or advertising for pay sex website rooms.)
Anyway I digress, why is it that a few people feel compelled to flame, name call and insult individuals who post on blog sites and forums? Is it an attempt to build their self esteem by slamming others, a naturally cantankerous nature or something spiritual along the lines of "the devil made me do it"? If they have nothing to contribute why not just keep their mouths shut or more accurately their fingers off the keyboard, if they have something to say why is it you rarely see their thought processes, reasons for dissent or opposing comments? Usually its just a -that is stupid and so are you- type of thing with no follow through. I mean come on, I do not think I am stupid, possibly misinformed, misguided or not considering a matter from a different perspective but surely if our convictions are so strong to resort to blatant name calling and insults you should be able to offer a reasonable dialogue supporting your views - NO? I thought not.
But then again keep doing what you are doing, all of those people who insult, slam and chastise people posting observations, questions and opinions, I will never be offended by someone sniping from a position so week that beyond name calling they have nothing to contribute but then again, occasionally the comments are entertaining for the simple audacity of having a person post such comments.
