What's the difference?

http://www.kansaswins.org/

Can somebody explain to me why there is such a furor by some who are opposed to expanding electronic gaming (gambling) in the state? Correct me if I'm wrong but the dire predictions of widows spending their mite on slot machines instead of food and families being thrown into the streets for the same reason would have already happened with the introduction of scratch tickets, pull tabs, and KENO. Wouldn't it?

you can walk into a store and pay from fifty cents to five dollars and hope that the right combination of numbers will show up on a video screen during the game, or put money in a slot machine and hope the right combination of symbols show up during the game.  I don't really see a big difference do you?

Some Legislators claim they are protecting us from the moral turpitude that would unavoidably follow an expanded gaming bill.  Where were they when the Keno and lottery bill passed? Are slot machines more evil than scratch off tickets? I thought it was my responsibility and that of my spiritual advisor to monitor my morals. *Hmmm, Reverand/Rabbi/Father-Senator Whoever?* NOPE not the legislators job to monitor my moral development

Kansas needs to pass the expanded gaming bill this time around, but I suppose if they don't the dozens of my friends and I will continue to take our Kansas money and spend it in Oklahoma and Missouri.
