O.K. so it has been a while, but things have been chaotic lately, but I thought I had some time, so let's talk pop culture.
I will start off by saying that I am not one for watching much television (unless, of course it is SportsCenter), but my roommate has turned me on to a new television show.
Honestly, I think that most things on television lately are junk - just more reality shows for us to watch and revel in others misery. Just when I thought that The Jerry Springer Show was the epitome of bad television, we have entered into the new age of watching people break into fist fights, trading spouses and women getting their hearts broken on national TV.
But, about a week ago, I came home at a decent hour (meaning before midnight) and my roommate was watching a show on Fox called The O.C.
I was skeptical at first because my roommate is one of those people that love reality shows, so I took away their couch commando card as soon as I walk in the door. But, I decided to give this one a chance.
To my surprise, the show, albeit about teenagers, was actually very appealing. Granted, I apparently have been behind the times and have jumped on The O.C. bandwagon during its final season.
Thank goodness for TV shows on DVD.
After watching my first episode of The O.C. I was hooked. The soundtrack was very good featuring groups like The Shins and The 88 and the plot was able to vary between teenaged relationships and adult conflict.
So, that weekend, I went and purchased the first season of the show on DVD. I started watching and I have become even more addicted than I was before.
Needless to say, I think that I will be purchasing the remaining seasons and glueing myself to my couch and watching.
I highly recommend.
On my iPod right now: Paint the Silence by South (ironically from The O.C.)
