I suppose I can't say that I am too terribly broken up about the recent announcement of county music singer Sara Evans filing for a divorce from her husband, Oregon Representative Craig Schelske, stating that he cheated on her, drank excessively, was verbally and emotionally abusive, and often watched pornography in their house. In addition to the filing, Evans has taken herself off the popular "Dancing With the Stars." Now for the reason why I am not that upset about it. Granted, divorce is never an easy thing to go through for a man, woman and especially ... kids. Evans and Schelske had three. But here is the thing, and not to sound too manly or macho, but a person like Evans is something that should be put directly on a pedestal and never removed. The 35-year-old Evans alleges that Schelske has photographs of himself having sex with other women, and that he has at least 100 nude photos of himself "in a state of arousal." Evans also says that Schelske watched pornography on the couple's computer and made requests online for sex with multiple partners. She alleges that their oldest child confronted Schelske while he was watching porn on their TV. What a shame. I am not the biggest county music fan, especially when I worked for a country-music radio station in Wichita and my ears continously rang after a shift, but I do happen to like Sara Evans' music. It is just a shame that she and her children will have to endure the trials of a divorce. On the iPod: "What R We Stealing" by David Holmes (from the Ocean's Twelve soundtrack).
