Getting into the groove

I am now a week and a half into my training/ nutrition program. If I had to sum it all up in one word I would say- sore. Karleigh has kicked my butt. I have sore muscles in places I did not know I had muscles. But, I love it- I want to get into tip-top shape. Since I already have a solid cardio program in place- adding lifting to my program will only help!

My nutritionist, on the other hand, is giving me a much tougher challenge- eating healthier. While I drag my butt to the gym every morning to keep my jeans fitting, I have no problem stuffing my face with cheeseburgers and ice cream. So, I am tackling my eating one step at a time. Step one, do away with the bad stuff. I have successfully made it through the week without buying candy or eating a cheeseburger. I have also eaten something for breakfast every morning and am eating more fruit and drinking milk everyday. It may not be a huge step, but it's a step in the right direction. This week I want to work on cutting down on my portions and making healthier choices when eating out or cooking. I know- it's not the Adkins diet, but it's working for me. So, wish me luck! and good luck to everyone else out there trying to stick with their New Years resolutions and just trying to Change Something!

The Beginning

So, I have begun my three month Change Something experience. So far it has been very interesting. I went into the program with an open mind and a willingness to try anything once.
So far I have met with my personal trainer, Karleigh Venneman, once and my nutritionist, Linda Timme, once as well. Both told me I was doing something well but could really use some work on other areas.
I will now begin meeting with my personal trainer three days a week- soreness comes to mind- but Karleigh has told me she will tone me up and reduce my body fat and really, who wouldn't want that. But, I know it won't be easy.
